Introducing DocAccess, and the problem of the unreadable PDF
Public agencies publish millions of PDFs that a screen reader cannot make sense of, and remediating them by hand is slow enough that most never get fixed. DocAccess reads a document's structure and intent instead, and produces a WCAG-compliant HTML version that keeps the original meaning intact.
The session reached an audience of 80,000 worldwide. Mac presented alongside Shawn Jordison of The Accessibility Guy and Carter Temm of QualityLogic.
